When I tell you it was cold at Hein + Jessies wedding, it was COLD.
So cold in fact that our noses froze and our fingers were stiff and burnt and holding our cameras proved to be quite difficult. There were not enough layers one could wear to ward off the icy chill, yet, here were these two lovers, traipsing around in the rain and wet, not really bothered by anything other than the most wonderful fact that they were now, finally husband and wife.
They got married on the same day they started dating, almost 11 years ago and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house as Jessie walked down the aisle. Even Gulio, the most hardened groomsman was seen desperately trying to hold back the tears watching his friends finally commit their lives together.
All weddings are pretty much the same, you have a bride and a groom and they get married and there is a party. There are decorations and flowers and a morning of pampering, great food and a lot of alcohol. We see the same things over and over again every weekend that one would think it might actually start to get a bit boring. But, the saving grace to it all, the only thing that makes one wedding different from the other, are the people. The friends and family that surround the couple and the couple themselves. The way they look at each other, the way they love each other and the way they love those around them.
Jess and Hein, not only are you rich in love for each other, but you are rich in love from your family and friends. Everyone, from your parents, grandparents to your, bridal party, your cousins, school friends and work colleagues, were so invested in your day. This is such a testament to who you both are, you hearts, your loyalty, your character.
It was such an honour getting to document your day. From watching your love blossom from that awkward teenage age, to now travelling the world together and (hopefully) one day starting a family. You guys have grown together, and what a gift it is to have your best friend by your side forever.
Never loose your magic! Love CL xx
